June updates // 2026
Seriously, I think I was so stressed out that I just blinked and half the month was already gone. Big things happened at work, which kept me away from my book. I still worked on it, but less than I wanted initially. On top of that, a heatwave hit my country and lasted more than a week. My family and I had to move out of our house and take refuge at my mum’s, who has AC. I think we’re gonna invest in AC in our own house in the near future. Anyway, let’s have a look at the news from June.
Running updates
Last month, I told you I needed to check on my legs with my doctor because I had a car accident as a pedestrian. A car hit my left leg, however I can still walk. I even ran two 10k races on that leg, but I still feel a bit of discomfort. So… he told me I probably have nothing due to the accident, but I should consult with a specialist because I potentially don’t run correctly.
I went back to running a couple of weeks ago and ended up with a knee injury after running barely 3km. My knee tripled in size overnight but it doesn’t hurt at all. I’ve put ice on it and it now looks normal… I’ve also had lower back pain for a few weeks. Maybe all is linked (it’s bearable though).
After two medals this year and that knee injury, I believe my running season is over. I’m gonna take care of myself and go back to it slowly but surely. Nothing to worry about at this stage, just me stepping back a bit so my body can heal/adjust properly.
Once Upon A Sky updates
Editing phase
I have not completed the edits yet, so I’m gonna use that buffer time until the very last minute I’m afraid. Work has been bonkers this month and has kept me away from my book. Not my web design work itself, but more like internal politics. It took a toll on my ability to focus on my story, and I couldn’t give it the attention it still needs. However, I have taken days off at the end of July, just in case I’m not able to complete the edits by then. Let’s cross fingers I can do it… But it sounds like I’ll need those days.
Blurb is officially completed
On the publishing side, I wrote a few blurbs, and I’m finally happy with one. I’ve sent it to my cover designer for integration, and everything looks good on that front.
SEO for Authors updates
I don’t often talk about SEO for Authors nowadays, because I’m not doing speaking events anymore. But the book finally earned out the money I’ve spent on it. It’s my second book achieving this—the first being the French version of The Londoners. I think that’s an amazing milestone worth sharing.
Anyway, still on time for a November release for Once Upon A Sky. But I need to speed up a bit in July if I want to keep the schedule.
